Recent and Upcoming Events

The Blued Trees Symphony has recently had new measures added on Bent Mountain, VA, and in Pence Springs, WV. Over 200 trees have been painted in the two states to stop the Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) with art, science and justice.

Supporters of The Blued Trees Symphony in Virginia and West Virginia have joined habitat and watershed defenders by submitting comments to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to stop the MVP.

In addition to private donations, The Blued Trees Symphony has received support from A Blade of Grass (ABOG), the New York Foundation for the Arts (NYFA) and the Ethelwyn Doolittle Justice and Outreach Fund, we are grateful to all that have supported the project, thank you!

The Blued Trees Symphony is a sonified biogeographic sculpture. Since 2015 it has been expanding across the North American continent, in the path of proposed natural gas pipelines. Each completed measure is 1/3-mile-long and creates 3-D scores across the terrain. The work is copyrighted. It asserts a vision of the common good based in art and science to replace fossil fuel extractive economies. An opera based on this project is now in development for performance. Please consider supporting this work at NYFA!
