Arctic Soundscape Project
Initiated and led by Bernie Krause, the Arctic Soundscape Project was a field-recording trip that took place during ten days in the late spring of 2006. The goal was to document in sound the National Wildlife Refuge.
The team was Bernie Krause, Kevin Colver, and Martyn Stewart. The recording sites were Beaufort Lagoon, Sunset Pass, and a site just south of the Brooks Range, some 35 air miles west of Arctic Village. Krause writes: "This image is a distant shot of our campsite hidden in the western-most part of the boreal forest ... a combo of tundra and boreal landscape."
